Dry Needling

DRY NEEDLING

Dry needling is a skilled intervention performed by a licensed physical therapist that uses a thin filiform needle to penetrate the skin and release underlying myofascial trigger points, muscular, and connective tissues for the management of pain and movement impairments. Dry needling is a technique used to treat dysfunctions in skeletal muscle, fascia, and connective tissue, and diminish persistent peripheral nociceptive input, and reduce or restore impairments of body structure and function leading to improved activity and participation.

Astym Treatment

Astym® treatment is a regenerative therapy provided by specially trained and certified physical and occupational therapists. Instruments are applied on top of the skin to locate dysfunctional (unhealthy) soft tissue and transfer pressure and shear forces to the underlying soft tissue structures.

Blood Flow Restriction Therapy

BLOOD FLOW RESTRICTION THERAPY (BFR)

If Personalized Blood Flow Restriction (PBFR) training is for you, your therapist can supplement this to your plan of care. This is used primarily for a rapid increase of strength and hypertrophy (increased size of muscle tissue).  Primarily, used when our patients have muscle atrophy due to an inactive period following an injury.  We utilize the PBFR, the approved Personalized Tourniquet System device. Personalized blood flow restriction rehabilitation training (PBFR) is a game-changing injury recovery therapy that is producing dramatically positive results.

Cupping Therapy

CUPPING THERAPY

Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which a therapist puts special cups made of glass, plastic or rubber on your skin for a few minutes to create suction under the cups. There are many purposes, including to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and well-being, and as a type of deep-tissue massage.

Strain-Counterstrain

STRAIN-COUNTERSTRAIN

Strain Counterstrain (SCS) is a gentle soft tissue manipulation technique which is effective in treating pain and limitations in strength and range of motion. SCS aims to reset the muscle's resting length and restore normal muscle tone by providing relief from sustained muscle contraction or spasm. This technique allows a therapist to painlessly "release" muscle and connective tissue spasm from all areas and systems of the human body.

Active Release Therapy

Active Release Therapy or ART is a non-invasive treatment system engineered to locate and quickly resolve soft-tissue disorders. Postural Restoration

POSTURAL RESTORATION

Postural restoration is a holistic, posture based approach to management of patients by taking multiple body systems into account to guide and direct patient care. Examinations are performed to asses postural alignment reflected in three planes simultaneously to determine the position of the body and whether or not pathology exists as a result of compensation.

EHLERS-DANLOS AND HYPERMOBILLITY

Hypermobility spectrum disorders are conditions where your joints stretch more than normal, increasing risk of injury. Physical therapy helps to combat instability and strengthen muscles are joints to improve hypermobility symptoms, alleviate paid, and prevent injury.
